Welcome to Playa Grande, Costa Rica's surf paradise! This stunning beach break boasts consistent waves perfect for all skill levels. November to April is the ideal time for beginner and intermediate surfers with smaller to medium-size waves on tap, and the biggest swells of the year will typically roll through from May to October.

Get ready to ride the waves around Playa Negra and Avellanas, with a few secret spots thrown in for good measure (don’t spill the beans!). The surf here offers everything from gentle sand-bottom rollers ideal for beginners to fun beach breaks and powerful reef breaks that will keep intermediate and advanced surfers stoked
