Living Pura Vida Surf Experiences was founded by a passionate mother-daughter duo, deeply rooted in Costa Rica's surf culture. As an all-women business, we are dedicated to empowering surfers of all levels through personalized coaching, mentorship, and a variety of surf-related services. Our offerings include beginner surf lessons, advanced coaching, surfboard rentals, surf camps, guided surf tours, and immersive surf retreats, all led by a team of certified female coaches, including national champions with a longboarding specialty.

Meet Andrea
Meet Andrea Diaz, Costa Rica’s OG surf queen! From being a pro surfer repping Roxy and gracing magazine covers to traveling the world on her board, she's done it all. Undefeated national champ and 2x top-5 finisher at the ISA World Surfing Games—no biggie, right? Proud mom to surf coaches Lia and Sol, and founder of @surf4youth, she’s helping young surfers chase their competition dreams. These days, she’s all about showing ‘modern elder’ women and men how to catch waves and making sure every surf session is pura excellence!
Introducing Lia
Living proof that grit and pura vida vibes go hand-in-hand! At just 20, she’s been Costa Rica’s undefeated national champ for two years straight. Whether it’s shortboarding or longboarding (which she’s only been doing for 2 years, BTW), she crushes it all. She even snagged a historic Bronze at the Pan Am Games and finished in the top 10 at the ISA World Longboard Games!
But don’t let all those medals fool you—Lia’s also a patient, super-smart coach who’s wise beyond her years. Follow her journey as she keeps making waves, literally!
Get to know Sol
Say hello to Sol Diaz, the youngest of the Diaz crew and a true Pura Vida soul!
She’s got a deep love for the ocean and surfing, but she’s all about riding those waves for herself. Oh, and did we mention she’s a straight-A student too? As a coach, Sol is super attentive, caring, and always brings her best to the beach. She works hard to keep up with her powerhouse mom and older sis—but with that beautiful soul of hers, she’s already a star in her own right!

Carrying on the surfing legacy as a true soul surfer, Kai has always been in the water, but now he’s officially hooked.
This smart, grounded kid will be part of our family-staff, welcoming you with his warm heart and pura vida vibes.
Whether you’re catching waves or just hanging out, Kai will make sure you feel right at home.

He’s our furry family member who lives for the beach and has even caught a few waves himself! A Golden-Husky mix, this stoked little dude will be your biggest fan, greeting you with tail wags and salty fur after every surf session. If you're a doggo lover, you’re gonna love this beach bum as much as we do!
